RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE POSITION OF HEADS OF TEMPOROMANDIBULAR JOINT AND UPPER RESPIRATORY TRACT IN MALOCCLUSION CLASS I AND II

The respiratory organs and the maxillofacial apparatus are quite closely related to each other. Reducing size of upper tract is a factor that contributes development formation bite pathology even dysfunction temporomandibular joint (TMJ). In recent years, there has been an increase in prevalence anomalies among children. aim study Is determine compare position TMJ heads anatomical dimensions (anterior-posterior dimensions) patients with malocclusion class I II based on cone beam computed tomography findings. analysis 39 cone-beam computer tomograms was carried out. According ANB angle, all were divided into two groups type malocclusion: group included I, II. Measurement interpretation out according method N.A. Rabukhina McNamara’s method. space three sections (front, top back both right left) had no statistically significant differences. average value left first front section 2.5±0.27mm, second – 3.01±0.35. part these indicators 2.76±0.37 mm, - 2.65±0.32 mm. posterior joint’s gap 3.06±0.01 mm 2.28±0.27 group. Measurements oropharyngeal area (according method): width pharynx 17.41±0.44 averaged 15.82±0.61 statistical significance (р˂0.05). classed, method, lower narrowed compared norm. demonstrated have difference reduction pharyngeal displacement upwards backwards.
